The story of Czech princess Agnes of Bohemia. Born to be a princess with a passive female role, she decided to reject her destiny, take control of her life and dedicate it to help the sick and poor.
Set in the 13th century in Central Europe, AGNES, based on true events, is biographical period mini-series about the princess Agnes of Bohemia. From her birth, she is supposed to fulfil her role as the Czech king’s daughter to be given in marriage to strengthen the political liaisons of the kingdom. But she decides to renounce her social roles, not to marry at all, but to found her own convent, to help the poor and ill. In order to make it happen, she will interfere into politics and get into conflict with the dogma of the church, creating enemies all around. The only thing that scares her more than her own life is not being able to carry out her goal and to stay faithful to her true self.
