Tomáš Vynikal started filming at the turn of primary and secondary school. In 2005 and 2006 he was a personal student of photographer Tomáš Vážan. In the autumn of 2006, he met producer Norbert Theo Auerbach in person at the Academia Film Olomouc festival, who helped him with advice on the production of the documentary - A Hospital at World's End (2008), directed by Otakar Štěrba. This film was selected among the 41 best mountain films at the 2009 Trento Film Festival in Italy.
In September 2008, Tomáš was accepted as a cameraman and reporter for Aktuálně.cz. Tomáš joined the Audiovisual Arts Studio at Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín (2009), where he collaborated with cameraman Juraj Fándli and photographer Pavel Dias.
Since 2010, Tomáš has been preparing a documentary film debut called Friends of the Ghetto. This is a 10 year time-span collection of issues concerning Přerov city's Škodova Street ghetto.
Tomáš also deals with nature protection. Before its abolition of 2003, he saved the natural monument Tučapská skalka. He also pushed for the declaration of a site of European importance, Deylův ostrůvek (announced in 2012).
Film awards - A Hospital at World's End (2008): Special award for Film Interpretation of Outstanding Humanitarian Project (International Festival of Outdoor Films 2008), Honorable Mention (International Film Festival TUR Ostrava 2009), Prize of the Town Teplice nad Metují (The International Mountaineering Film Festival in Teplice nad Metuji 2010).
