Fiction

It's 1998 and in Nagano in Japan culminates the Olympic ice hockey tournament. The Czech team wins and at home, mass celebrations break out. Adults regain almost lost national pride and all the children want to be like Járg or Hašek. That applies to Dom as well. An eleven-year-old dreamer, a boy from a broken family. He desperatelly want to play ice hockey but his parents cannot afford it. Plus, they doubt about the son's talent. On his grandfather's advice, Dom with his friend Honza puts together a ball hockey team and call it "Sabres", reffering to Dominik Hašek's team in Buffalo. A team of misfit, underappreciated kids begins working on a big challenge - to defeat the team of Red Wings and win respect. After the initial debacle, the Sabres team is taken over by the eccentric coach and father of Honza, Karel and everything is headed for revenge.
