Josef, a book publisher and his wife Miluška, an aerobic trainer, live together in a small town in a seemingly happy marriage. In the beginning of our story, Josef, a notorious dreamer, goes through a midlife crisis. His publishing house, suffering from lack of readers, is on the edge of bankruptcy and moreover, Josef falls in love with his young assistant, who he finds more attractive and passionate than his wife. Josef leads a double life. He makes up a story for his wife about his aunt Marta's sudden death and instead of attending the fictional funeral he has fun with his lover. What he doesn't know though is that in the meantime Marta, in the role of a marriage adviser, arrives to their town.
