This compilation documentary takes us back to Czechoslovakia of 1992 and the events around the presidential elections which eventually led to the breakup of the federal republic. The film, which uses footage of Czechoslovak Television and the independent news bulletin Original Videojournal, focuses on the first elections, in which Václav Havel was the sole candidate. The film captures Havel´s immediate reactions to the changing situation around the elections, whether those intended for the public or expressed within his circle of advisors. In addition to bringing a portrait of an important Czech politician, the film evokes public life in the 1990s.
