A romantic fairy tale in which a royal promise is law and love can overcome any obstacle. During a battle fought long ago, the king promised a dying friend that one day he would welcome the friend’s daughter into his own family. The young prince has now come of age and the time has come for the king to keep his promise: he celebrates the engagement of his son to the daughter of the faithful friend who once saved his life. The princess arrives at the splendid celebration and the two young people soon fall in love – but not with each other. How can this complicated situation be resolved? The king is wise but stubborn and he refuses to break his word. The princess, however, is also wise and with true love as her guide she cannot go astray.
