A series of five stories from the legendary book of the same name by Jan Werich. I. Greedy Barka: Why Prague’s Dejvice (i.e. Givemore) wasn’t renamed Miserville, and how it happened that Barka grew horns overnight. II. After the Leaves Fall from the Oak: Can a devil do a good deed by teaching an alcoholic not to drink? Even if it’s the bes… bestest… greatest deed of all? III. Fearless Franta: Franta wants to know what it’s like to be afraid. All he has to do is spend one day at a pub haunted by… IV. A Dream Fulfilled: A dream is just a dream: when you wake up it’s morning. But although Slowpoke knows it’s a vile habit, he places a bet on a lucky number. V. Fimfárum: Men are a strange breed: if they trust their wives they do the damnedest things…
