This feature-length documentary presents a loving and humorous portrait of the artistic and private life of Zdeněk Svěrák, famous as a writer, actor, lyricist, screenwriter, and father. "We started where Elementary School took place, in the Prague suburb of Bohdalec; we took a peek at Kopidlno, the place he survived the war as a seven-year-old; we went to Žatec where he started out as a teacher and longed to be famed writer Alois Jirásek... We traveled with the Jára Cimrman Theater during its winter tour to the Giant mountains; and in summer we visited his country house." Many people appear in the film who have been instrumental in Svěrák's personal life and carrier. Another major element involves the collaboration between father and son, which during the shooting went through a painful creative crisis, all the more delicate in that professional approaches, opinions, and attitudes intertwined with family relations...
