In the timeless Dante´s Purgatory, the souls of two important Czech medieval characters meet: the controversial King Ottokar II of Bohemia and a forgotten Czech traveller, monk Odoric, who was the first European who visited Tibet. In exchange for a description of a voyage to the eastern countries of the world, he convinces the famous king to make an account for his government full of successes, but also dramatic moments, losses, and injustices. But he soon discovers that they both have too much in common. The phenomenal dialogue between the king and the monk Odorik will guide you through the Czech kingdom at the time of its greatest expansion, in times so long ago and yet so close: even then people sent reminders for unpaid invoices, fought plagiarism, and spread dangerous fake news.
