The film uniquely captures the remarkable life stories of 25 hundred-year-old citizens born in Czechoslovakia in 1918. The respondents, both men and women, are represented equally in the film. The group represents various social classes: people who were (and some still are!) manual workers, but also those who were university educated intelligentsia. The film captures the stories of the hundred-year olds against the background of historical events in Europe during the 20th century, events which significantly affected life in Czechoslovakia and later in the Czech Republic.
