At the frenzy of the Space Race almost 100.000 people on both sides of the Iron Curtain signed up to fly to the Moon at the PanAm‘s First Moon Flights Club. World was split to two realities of the East and the West, but there was just one Moon, for everybody. Following the filmmaker´s grandfather, one of the fellow club members, the film asks what did the mere thought and imagination of a trip to the Moon meant to these potential space travellers – on both sides of the Iron Curtain? What were they imagining finding? And how is this relevant for us? Today, 50 years after the Moonlanding, we are still dreaming about space, setting off for various missions – the Moon, Mars and further on. Are “the Moon” generation’s dreams and aspirations the same as ours?
