You don't have to live in the war zone to be confronted with the war. Conflict in eastern Ukraine is part of everyday live. Camouflage-dressed youths at train stations, internal migrants, and poverty – that´s just one side of it. On the other side, the war has also brought a sense of belonging to others, to weaker people, to the homeland. In the countryside, an alternative to the insufficient social system has emerged. Many communities and volunteers are replacing state social work, so help can be found in unexpected places. In the pizzeria, Christian centre, or a dog shelter. The film is a social travelogue about self-sufficiency – a visit to several human microcosms.
